A sixth-generation member of the prestigious Mitogo family, his lineage traces back centuries across Congo, Cameroon, Gabon, and Equatorial Guinea, reflecting a rich cultural and royal heritage. The family’s legacy is rooted in historical figures such as Chief Engono Mitogo Miko of Equatorial Guinea and King Nzam Yamebegue of the Fang people, the largest population within the Bantu ethnic group, whose influence shaped much of Central Africa’s culture and governance. Notably, Gabon’s first president, Gabriel Léon M’ba, and Equatorial Guinea’s first president, Francisco Macias Nguema, are distant cousins of Dr. Mitogo, highlighting a longstanding tradition of leadership and public service within his family.
